Police arrested a cyclist on Friday who allegedly got caught on video berating activists who had posted leaflets in support of Black Lives Matter earlier this week.
He surrendered to police on Friday and got charged with second-degree assault in connection with the incident, which occurred on the Capital Crescent Trail on Monday.
Several Maryland law enforcement agencies, including the state attorney general, were involved in the search for the cyclist seen in the video.
The man, Anthony Brennan III, was charged with three counts of second-degree assault. According to the Park Police report, Brennan forcibly grabbed a black lives matter flyer from one of the victims and pushed his bike into a male member, causing the victim to fall.
One victim of the attack, who wished to remain anonymous, said she and others posted the leaflet after coming across it on Facebook.
